Acclaimed photographer Peter Morey was recently invited to do a presentation for nearly 600 aspiring beauty queens at the 2012 Miss SA workshop.
Having acted as the official photographer at ten Miss South Africa pageants, five Miss World events as well as the Face of Africa, Peter was perfectly placed to advise the aspiring Miss SA and Miss SA Teen entrants who attended the workshop.
The event, held in June at the Sandton Sun Hotel in Johannesburg, was hosted by former Miss SA and motivational speaker Lorna Potgieter, who also acted as the Gauteng scout for the annual event.
It included presentations by pageant judges, stylists as well as both the current and former Miss SA on various topics aimed at preparing the beauty queen hopefuls for the contest.
As part of his presentation on photography and entry photographs, Peter Morey also shared important advice with the group of Miss SA’s on how to avoid pitfalls when choosing a photographer for beauty or portfolio shoots.

ASPIRING BEAUTY QUEENS SHOWN HOW TO PUT THEIR BEST FOOT FORWARD
Following the workshop, several beauty participants took advantage of a special discounted portfolio shoot offered by Peter Morey Photographic to prepare them for the pageant. Each participant was able to pose in a variety of outfits during the shoots, which took place at Peter Morey Photographic’s studio.
